A few more photos

Sorry some of the photos are horizontal instead of vertical.

A sad goodbye

Randy left on Sunday for a year-long tour to Iraq. He will be in Kuwait for a few weeks, then he will transfer to Iraq. Last week I went to Fort Hood Texas to visit him. His family was also there and it was nice spending lots of time with them. We were able to meet our niece, Sadie. She is adorable. When I hear from him, I will update everyone.

It's all ours!!!

We are now homeowners!!! After 7 months of looking at over 100 homes, we have finally bought one. We closed today. We are having the carpets removed and the hardwood floors refinished. The wallpaper in the kitchen will also be taken down and the inside of the house repainted. Next year we will landscape the front yard and paint the outside of the house. We also want to update the kitchen and bathrooms, but we are taking one project at a time. We are very excited and can't wait to move in.

Everyday Pasta

I met Giada DeLaurentiis today at the Stanford Shopping Center. She had a book signing for her new book, "Everyday Pasta." For those of you who aren't obsessed with the Food Network like we are, she has a show and a few cookbooks. I have tabbed many recipes already.

1 month and 1 day

That's how old this little cutie was when I took these photos. This is Logan, my friend Amy's son. Isn't he adorable? Such a relaxed and happy little boy. I was also able to take a few photos of big brother kissing him. The kisses were constant :)

Easter pics

We went to John and Jenny's house for Easter. My parents, Kylie, Glenn and Bill and Tomar Mason were also invited. Kylie and Glenn brought their new baby, Kiwi, a cute little parrot. For dinner we had lamb, cheesy potatoes, salad and Silver and Gold cake for dessert.

A few last photos

of Martha and Mike's visit. One of the evenings Randy and I made dinner. We made salmon, asparagus wrapped in blue cheese and coppa and caprese salad. The last night of their visit we ate dinner at Zibibbo, a restaurant in downtown Palo Alto. http://www.restaurantlulu.com/Zibibbo_about.html
We ate the best desserts!

San Juan Oaks

After Santa Cruz and San Juan Bautista, we golfed at San Juan Oaks. Well, I drove the golf cart for the first 9 holes and read in the lounge the last 9.

After Santa Cruz we drove to San Juan Bautista and visited the mission. We were unable to see the inside, so we walked around the grounds.

Martha and Mike visited us last week. We had a great time. On the second day they were here, we drove to Santa Cruz and walked around the beach for a bit. We then ate lunch at Margaritaville. More photos to come...

It's starting to look a little like Spring

John and Jenny gave us these tulips for Valentine's Day and they just started to bloom. The look great in our apartment. Every year for Valentine's Day, Randy's grandpa, Buck, sent tulips to family members. Since he passed away last February, John carried on the tradition this year.

Grant the Snowman

Sorry it has taken me so long to post photos from Christmas.
I wanted to share these pictures of Randy and John making a snowman on the back porch in McCall. They named him Grant because they used Grant's hat to decorate him with.

Happy Valentine's Day

Randy and I had a relaxing 1st Valentine's Day. I wasn't feeling well, so we stayed home and ate a heart-shaped pizza. Randy bought me a dozen yellow (my favorite) roses. For Valentine's Day, Martha sent us truffles from Williams Sonoma. They were so good and they inspired us to make some of our own. We made several different flavors: powdered sugar, mocha, cocoa, peanut butter, and oreo. They were soooo good.
