Congratulations to my mom!

In May, my mom retired from her 30+ year career as a ROP teacher for Merced County Schools. In April, her co-workers gave her a very nice retirement party. My grandparents from Placerville and uncle from Arizona were able to attend. Many of my aunts and uncles and close friends from the area were also there to support her.

Ninety

My grandpa turned 90 in April. The day before his big birthday bash (complete with Mariachi band), he fell and bruised his face. He felt fine, but looked as if he was in a boxing match.

100 Days

left until my due date. The second trimester has gone by extremely fast. I am sharing photos of the day we found out we were expecting. I took the test first thing in the morning (after Randy left for work). I kept it a secret all day and surprised him when he returned home with balloons, a teddy bear and the book, "The Expectant Father."

Congrats to Devon and Chad!

Mr. and Mrs. Homme were married at The River Mill in French Camp last night. The wedding was beautiful and so was Devon. She looked amazing. Congrats to them!

Some happy news!

We are expecting a baby Jan.1. We are so excited. The gender is going to be a surprise. My pregnancy has been easy-no morning sickness! I am feeling well and exercising a little everyday. The countdown begins!

A few more photos

Sorry some of the photos are horizontal instead of vertical.

A sad goodbye

Randy left on Sunday for a year-long tour to Iraq. He will be in Kuwait for a few weeks, then he will transfer to Iraq. Last week I went to Fort Hood Texas to visit him. His family was also there and it was nice spending lots of time with them. We were able to meet our niece, Sadie. She is adorable. When I hear from him, I will update everyone.

It's all ours!!!

We are now homeowners!!! After 7 months of looking at over 100 homes, we have finally bought one. We closed today. We are having the carpets removed and the hardwood floors refinished. The wallpaper in the kitchen will also be taken down and the inside of the house repainted. Next year we will landscape the front yard and paint the outside of the house. We also want to update the kitchen and bathrooms, but we are taking one project at a time. We are very excited and can't wait to move in.

Everyday Pasta

I met Giada DeLaurentiis today at the Stanford Shopping Center. She had a book signing for her new book, "Everyday Pasta." For those of you who aren't obsessed with the Food Network like we are, she has a show and a few cookbooks. I have tabbed many recipes already.

1 month and 1 day

That's how old this little cutie was when I took these photos. This is Logan, my friend Amy's son. Isn't he adorable? Such a relaxed and happy little boy. I was also able to take a few photos of big brother kissing him. The kisses were constant :)

Easter pics

We went to John and Jenny's house for Easter. My parents, Kylie, Glenn and Bill and Tomar Mason were also invited. Kylie and Glenn brought their new baby, Kiwi, a cute little parrot. For dinner we had lamb, cheesy potatoes, salad and Silver and Gold cake for dessert.

A few last photos

of Martha and Mike's visit. One of the evenings Randy and I made dinner. We made salmon, asparagus wrapped in blue cheese and coppa and caprese salad. The last night of their visit we ate dinner at Zibibbo, a restaurant in downtown Palo Alto. http://www.restaurantlulu.com/Zibibbo_about.html
We ate the best desserts!
