Fireworks

We lit fireworks off the dock. They actually looked better than what you see here, but I am horrible at taking pictures of fireworks. Hattie fell asleep before this happened, so she missed them. I think she will be able to appreciate them more next year anyway.

S'mores

The pictures you've all been waiting for...all of us eating S'mores! We made and ate them while waiting to shoot off fireworks (those exciting photos are next). Enjoy!

Celebrating the 4th

I am trying to finish Idaho pictures before Halloween!

Here are some photos of us in McCall at John and Jenny's cabin. Hattie and Sadie wore matching outfits and they looked adorable. Jenny's potato salad was delicious (btw Jenny, I want your recipe) and the S'mores were perfect (photos of those later).

Too Little

Today we went to a birthday party for a friend's 2-year-old (photo of the tutu is the birthday girl). It was at a gymnastics location, so the "big kids" ran around, jumped on a trampoline, swung on bars, danced underneath a parachute, and jumped in the bouncey house. Since Hattie is still too little to join in on those activities, she sat and watched, and sometimes even laughed with the big kids. She did get to play with a balloon (even though her mean mama did not let her take it home).

8 Months and Happy Grandparent's Day!

Hattie continues to amaze us with all of the skills she is demonstrating.

She:

-is SO SO SO close to crawling

-does not have any teeth yet (woohoo! since I am still nursing)

-looks at Cameron when we sign and say "cat"

-likes peas (unlike her grandma)

-is often told what a happy baby she is

-sleeps with her bottom in the air

-likes to take off her hat when going for a walk

-is starting to vocally imitate sounds

-weighs 17.5 lbs. and is 26.5 inches

-sucks on her thumb

-went to her first wedding last month (congrats Wes and Lisa)

-loves watching other children

-holds her bottle without assistance (woohoo! freedom for us)

Happy Grandparent's Day to Grandma and Grandpa, Nana and Grandpa, and Grammy and Grandpa. We love and miss all of you. Can't wait to see you!

While the Adults were Skiing...

the girls were playing. Sadie decided to take Hattie for a walk in her stroller. Hattie sat back and let her big cousin take charge.

Skiing in McCall

We stayed at the Thomas' cabin (Martha and Mike's) during our stay in Idaho. Martha enjoyed kayaking around the lake, and Randy, Grant and Marne skied. I stayed on dry land and took lots of photos.

Cousins

While we were in Idaho, Hattie met her cousin Sadie for the first time. They are 6 months apart and played well together. And by that I mean Sadie ran around and played, and Hattie sat and watched her. Soon Hattie will be running after her. Not sure if we're ready for that!

Poor Cameron

He just wasn't fast enough. He'll learn.

7 Months and Curls

7 months. Wow. We are past the half-way mark to 1 year. Lots of firsts this past month.

She:

-has a routine down-3 naps a day

-sleeps through the night 6pm-6am-no middle of the night wake-ups

-loves sweet potatoes and mangoes, undecided about bananas and avocados

-prefers to sit rather than lie on her back

-says "aim," "buh," "umph," and "pfistsft"

-cries whenever we leave the room (ugh)

-nods her head when she hears music

-imitates us slapping our thighs

-sleeps on her belly

-does not have any teeth but is gnawing on everything

-looks when her name is called about 50% of the time

-is learning the sign for "eat"

Curls-these little ringlets are starting to form all over her head. So. Darn. Cute.

A Year Late...

but still somewhat tasty. In keeping with tradition, Randy and I kept the top layer of our wedding cake in the freezer to be eaten on our first anniversary. Well, Randy wasn't here on our first anniversary, so for the past 2 YEARS, this cake box has been sitting there taking up precious space. On Monday night we finally opened the box and ate it. It actually didn't taste too badly considering we kept the roses on it. Not sure why we did that. ?

A Little Visit

Martha and Mike (Grammy and Grandpa) are here for a visit from Boise. Yesterday we walked around Santana Row and today we shopped for dinner at the Farmer's Market in downtown Campbell (photos later).
