Tot School-Camping Theme Week 2

For our second week of our Camping Theme, we were able to spend it at my in laws in McCall, Idaho. They have a cabin, and we spend a week or so there every summer. We didn't have many structured activities planned, but were able to discover nature in their backyard (not easy to do that in San Jose).

WE...

Found and ate wild strawberries...

Fished off of the end of their dock with our new pink Barbie
fishing pole...

Made a sailboat with Pa out of driftwood, a stick and a
plant fertilizer bag...

Went on a scavenger hunt using pictures from SEN teacher.
Nana made the girls a bucket to carry their treasures. Grammy
made the pictures into a bracelet so the girls could easily find the items
they were looking for...

Built lots of fires in the fire pit and ate lots of s'mores. I think
s'mores could be its own post...

Found and captured minnows, then released them back
into the lake. We had just read this book, so the finding of
minnows was perfect timing...

Read the book, Franklin's Canoe Trip, then set out on a canoe
ride. It lasted 30 seconds when Hattie decided she did not like
riding in small boats...

Picked dandelions. Dandelions are a favorite around here...

Discovered animals tracks on one of our hikes-a fox and a
bird. We brought our Animal Tracks book and were able to
match the tracks in the sand to the ones in the book...

Pa pulling the girls in a boat around the lake...

Practiced water safety with their life jackets...

We had a great time, and we are looking forward to next
year...

More pictures of our trip in a few days.
